You are so correct, Cindy; things certainly have different meanings nowadays. I mean, just look at 1974 verses 2024.....

In 1974, we would hear Mr. Fergason's voice on the PA: "Attention all staff. We have a naked individual loose in the Commons". Staff would leap into action, as they were trained to do. You would lean over to Julie Hayhurst in English class and whisper (in an excited voice): "Come on, let's go, we have A STREAKER in the Commons".

In 2024, we hear the same announcement: "Attention all staff. We have a naked individual loose in the Commons". Staff still leaps into action, as they were still trained to do. However, now you would lean over to Julie and whisper, in a very sad voice. "Come on, some poor guy forgot his pants, again. Let's go help him find his pants and maybe help him find his way home".

Yeah. Life was sure a lot tougher back in the day.

In 1974, our parents and grandparents got older and sometimes we LOST them. It was a sad situation that we had to endure.

In 2024, as we get older, our kids face the fact they may LOSE us at some point. But, don't fret, life is better these days. They all have cell phones now and, whamo, all of our cell phones simultaneously go off with a statewide Silver Alert. This is followed by huge pile-ups on the Interstates, as every driver is looking around for some old geezer wandering in the wild. Once the mess is cleaned up and the person is found, the authorities determine that the geezer was simply walking to Wal-Mart, because the kids took my keys away from me.

Hey Matt! You are so right! It was tough back in 1974. But even worse in 1954 when my mom graduated from Clarendon High School! She was told by her classmate, Buddy Bobbit, that he was so poor, all he got for breakfast was Ghost Toasties and the Hole in the Doughnut. They were washed down by evaporated milk! (True story) p.s. love your humor!πŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ˜„πŸ€£πŸŽ―. Apparently Buddy continued his Comedy tour well into his later life! And I would love to get tickets to your tour! πŸ₯³πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

I enjoyed this past weekend so much. It was wonderful seeing, visiting with, and reminiscing with everyone. I wish we had hours (maybe days) more time to catch up.

A huge THANK YOU to the group of five organizers and others that pitched in to make this event possible.

Love and miss all of you THS classmates,

Matt Tschirhart

What a great time!  I wish we could have made Saturday.  I want to tell all those involved you did a great job, and we ALL appreciate all the hard work you put in to make the weekend so enjoyable.  I'm hoping you will change  your mind about not doing another.  We don't have to eat...just get together and visit!

Todd, not Karra.....I'm a tech illiterate.

I thought everything was wonderful. Every detail was provided from amazing locations to thoughtful catering staff. I loved our meal Saturday evening.

Richard, I'm so excited you will be on the committee for the 60th.  I'm sure you heard the announcement, the first person to complain gets to chair the next reunion committee!  I'll help too and maybe we can get Matt to help, with his sense of humor and your input into the food it will be a blast!

I will help with the 55th or 60th reunion as well. No complaints for the 50th. Y'all did a wonderful job. I just think it would be fun, and of course a lot of work. But I will be retired by then. Haha! I can create/design decorations, and with Kyle's help, and maybe some other drama graduates, we could create some entertainment too.

I'm not creative, and I've never planned a function like this, but I'd like to help with the 55th and 60th.  I would be willing to help find some of our classmates,  I'll be retiring at the end of 2026.

Thank you for all of the comments about your experience at this year's reunion. I enjoyed hearing about the experience and believe it to be time well spent with old friends. My wife and I had planned our 40th wedding anniversary to a trip to Yellowstone and booking was 9 months out , I can confirm to you all that old faithful is still faithful and just as beautiful as it was when some of us went in 73 .

Was at the reunion this past weekend. Last one I went to was the 20th. How time flies. Just wanted to say thanks to the ladies that did all the hard work to put this on.

Also great seeing some people I went to school with since 1st grade at Olsen.

Allen Durrent you gave a great program and funny as usual.

Hope we can have a 55th. If you need help financially to keep the Ths class 74 website up and running Im glad to chip in and Im sure others would as well.

Great to see everyone.

Regards,

Armand Smith

Kyle,

I came to the 10th, 30th, and 50th Reunions. I have a pattern going on of coming to a reunion every 20 years, I don't plan on breaking that pattern. I will see all of you at the 70th Reunion.

Oh, wait, when? Wait a minute...in 2044, I will be how old?  Hmmm, OK, maybe I need to break the pattern and come back before then.

Ugh! Should have proofed that one better before I hit "submit". It should have said "committee members"!

Under the section of how many live where, shouldn't we have 1 in South Africa? Isn't that where Joe Clark lives?

You will do a great job!  We are happy you are carrying on the reunion planning!   Our committee had such a wonderful time together, we are actually planning on getting together because we can't stand not seeing each other!   Thanks for stepping up!  We are here if you have any questions!

Wendy Pottorff (Hansen)

Yay, I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of the "committ" members too! Ha! And yes, Cindy Maguire we already have questions for you. And to let my committee members know, I already have a yes from several other old friends, (Sally Daniel Crawford, Julie Roach Radcliffe and Cindy Clarke O'Neil) that they will help out too. : ) Going to be fun.

That is wonderful!, Wendy! You all will do a great job! Sally has helped out for many years, so she will be a big help.  We all are always here to help.

Wendy Pottorff (Hansen)

So now that we have a new reunion committee, and we are already thinking about what to do for the 55th, I have some questions to pose to all of you. Please ponder the following queries and let us know your answers and ideas. Thank you!!!!

1. What was your favorite reunion with Tascosa and why?
2. Did you have a favorite place that any of the reunions were held at?  If so, where and what is the place?
3. Have the past 5 year reunions been on one day, or did you celebrate with a two day event like the 20th and the 50th reunion?

James Early

Wendy and New Committee members,

First, thanks for taking on this role. We are all grateful.

I have been to the 10th, 40th, and 50th reunions. I liked the two day approach, because I was able to reconnect with different people each night. If it's only one day, there's not enough time to see everyone you want to talk to. And coming from a distance, it made the trip more worthwhile.

The venues all were fine. It's nice to have enough space and time to mingle and chat.

Thanks for doing the 55th. I can't wait.

Wonderful news! Thanks to eveyone who volunteered to work on the committee for future reunions. Also, huge thanks to the previous group! I look forward to whatever upcoming events look like! I like the two-day schedule myself and the venues are great - also very open to exploring different spaces.
